I capture emotions, not poses. The good stuff shows up when nobody's performing for the camera. A kid yanking dad's sleeve. Two people who forgot anyone else existed. The laugh that came from nowhere and lasted three seconds.
I observe until I find the human in my subject. Then I click. The real client isn't the person standing in front of me. It's the future version of them, 30 years from now, pulling up this photo and feeling everything all over again.
I thread the needle between science and art. I geek out over the numbers because photography's an aesthetic math problem to me.
I like to keep my clients and the environment pretty loose. There's laughing. There are moments nobody planned. If a photo is worth a thousand words, then a laugh is worth a thousand stories, and that's what I'm really after.
